The history of Stanford University's Dv8 begins with co-founders Michelle Florendo, FIlamer Kabigting, and Anh Tan. From the get-go their vision was to Dv8 from the norm, push boundaries, and explore various dimensions of dance. Other founding principles were to have fun, inspire others to learn about hip hop and it various styles. The trio quickly built up the team and the original group of 14 made their smashing debut in the fall of 2001. From their humble beginnings with their signature blue jackets, Dv8 has become an ever evolving, trend setting group with a unique style all their own. Since then, Dv8 has grown to become one of the most well known hip hop dance groups on campus.
